Bonjour,avant toute chose il faut comparer avec le in reach mini qui est dans la même gamme de prix et a deux fois moins de batterie. Ceci implique, quand on regarde les commentaires sur les forums, qu'il est difficile à utiliser en expédition (trop de recharges nécessaires). Le explorer semble mieux mais à 600 euros au dessus de mon budget.Je mets en garde le lecteur sur le faite qu'il est compliqué à bien utiliser. En faite le mode trace n'est actif qu'après avoir effectué un check position: faut le savoir. Il faut donc l'essayer avant de partir en expé ce qui semble une évidence.Sinon fait bien le travail (quelques pertes de traces de quelques heures possibles, en forêt denses ou en vallées profonde, mais rien de méchant et logique pour les appareil satellites). => pensez à checker régulièrement votre position pour vos proches, c'est gratuit et ça permet d'assurer que la dernière position a bien été envoyé ( y' a un contrôle).Une dernière chose à savoir, lors d'un appel de détresse il semble qu'il envoie un signal beaucoup plus fort ce qu'il fait qu'il doit beaucoup mieux passer. Mais les checks passent sans problèmes dans les 10 mins, donc pour les demandes de secours, ce n'est pas parfait, mais ça doit faire bien le travail.Au costa rica on avait utilisé la balise qui passait bien la trace en jungle très profonde, là où le téléphone satellite passait pas du tout ...

El artículo no es nuevo llego con la caja abierta y con marcas de haber estado expuesto, además en el anuncio pone que es el Bluetooth y no lo es es una versión antigua el artículo no coincide con el anuncio

El anuncio indica que es la version bluetooth, y no es cierto, recibiras la version Spot X sin bluetooth.El equipo funciona perfectamente pero el anuncio engaña en la version del articulo.

After reading the poor opinion on Amazon, I was concerned about buying this unit. I have used spot gen3 for many years and I found that it worked very well, but recently I decided to look for a two-way device to send and receive messages as I will be traveling a lot over the summer and the places that I will be visiting to do not have good mobile phone coverage. I would prefer to be able to answer messages as well as send them.After spending time comparing pricing, coverage and functionality with the Garmin Inreach product, I decided to buy the SPOT X unit. Cost is important to me and having free Incoming SMS messages no matter where I am located won me over. (Garmin actually charge for incoming messages). SPOT X also stores 14 messages of your choice. Those can be sent by email or SMS for free to anyone in the world. There is absolutely no charge for those messages!! Garmin only have 3 of those messages. I also get Free 10 minute tracking included on my basis plan which is great!!Sending and receiving messages via satellite with SPOT X takes around 3-4 minutes to send a message and probably around 5-10 minutes to retrieve a message. That is not scientific but I just place the unit outside and leave it when I am sending and receiving messages. The trick is to ensure that it can see the sky.Battery wise, I have had it for 4 days and have been using tracking in my car driving about 5 hours a day sending positions every 10 minutes. I still have about half of the battery left on the unit so I am happy with the battery life so far.The device feels solid in the hand and I have no issues with the keyboard. My fingers are not that small, so I guess people will either like the keyboard or not. I find it works well.I have activated the unit on a monthly plan to cover the Summer period. I will probably stop the service at the end of September, which for me is a great improvement over the SPOT GEN3 annual service. Being able to stop and start the service when I want is perfect for my needs.I have to say that I am very happy with the device so I will give it a big thumbs up.

Hi,I ordered the SPOT X because I thought its an interesting alternative to the very expensive Garmin Inreach devices.But there are lot of pain with the SPOT X.1. Yes, the SPOT X have keyboard but for normal adult people that keyboard is not really useable. It looks like a perfect working BlackBerry keyboard but it have nothing to do with a BlackBerry. The buttons are very small and you need long finger nails to push the correct keys. Even a short sentence takes minutes. I can't imagine what kind of human tried the keyboard and said "yes, the keyboard is working good"....2. Battery life. The vendor says up to 10 days battery life with 10 minutes of tracking with 25 degrees temperature and clear view to the sky. I tested the device during three mountain trips (mounted on my backbag) and I get maximum of 2 1/2 days battery life. OK the battery life varies but 10 and 2 1/2 days is very big difference and not acceptable for me.3. Phone number. There is an entry the FAQ database that different regional phone numbers are available. Also a dedicated SPOT X phone number for European customers. I started a request and tried to get a European phone number for my SPOT X because I'm located in Germany. Otherwise people have to pay roaming fees If they send text messages to my US SPOT X number.The vendor says: No, sorry, but the function is not available now. Maybe later ...
