I purchased this super reasonable 2-channel mic preamp and tested whether its sound quality exceeds the price. Yes, this tiny one has very clean sonic characteristics. The sound is not the most transparent, but it is good enough for various recordings. So, value-wise, MPA-202 is highly recommended to those seeking a preamp for extra inputs.

Perfect for my Shure SM7B, works well in conjunction with komolete 6 audio interface. Additional noise is minimal and sometimes even unnoticeable, couldn’t recommend highly enough

Excellent piece of kit. Robust quality construction, small footprint, heavy enough to stay put when you plug in chunky cables (rubber feet as well) and very useful. 2 Channels (they also do a one channel version) and with the ability to adjust the eq (lo cut and fine tune for each channel) and that was very important for me. Also invert switches which is useful and single RCA unbalanced outputs for each channel as well as (of course) balanced XLR outputs. I liked the fact that you can see the input/output info on the top of it. The gain controls like the other controls feel like the quality that they are and give you the feeling of precision as well as telling you where that precision is, sockets similarly so. Obviously you can put in Condenser or dynamic mics and it will do both the first requiring Phantom power the second will ignore it, Dynamic mics that do not require phantom power simply ignore it - the nature of it being phantom!.I questioned whether the Phantom power would be enough because it is 12v Phantom and mostly the manufacturers of the Condenser mIcs that you would probably put in this specify 48v, so what is going on? The Tech guy of imgStageline that I contacted said that most Mics (condenser) on the market will work off 18v (and the other one channel version has 18v). I plugged a Rode NT-1 into this thing and that is a top quality Condenser with the specification of 48v and the result? It worked perfectly. They specify 48v for Mics and say well you need it to get every morsel of the Mic's capability out ot it but it will work fine and drive condenser mics even with 12v.btw there is enough gain in this thing to blow the roof off.
