I was using the Helicor pizzicato string for my Palatino ve500. The first set was too long so I tried the 1/2 size set and they where also to long. They had a great sound but they where just not right for my bass. So I ordered a set of the NS Traditional 3/4 medium bass strings. Not only do they fit great (the Palatino ve500 has a 40 1/2" string length) but because they are 41 3/4" string length they fit perfectly, and they sound great. I modified my bass by using a cut down ebony tail piece and change the electronics. Which got as close to an acoustic upright bass as you can get. After adding these strings it put the sound over the top. Of course the bass will never be 100% upright sounding but I've got it at least 95%. The D'addario NS Traditional strings made the difference. Great strings.

Le produit est à la base de bonne qualité mais il ne correspond pas à ce que je cherchais.Ne convient pas pour une contrebasse électrique de marc Stagg = les cordes sont trop courtes d'environ 10 cm et elles sont trop finesIl faut des vraies cordes de contrebasse 3/4 et en forte tension.

Owning an NS Designs NXT5, I tried replacing the strings with full sized upright bass strings with a rope core, ended up spending $200 for the EADG and another $100 for the low B, and ended up not being able to use the low B string (it broke the tuning machine twice and I had to get it replaced). These fit the bass perfectly, they feel more like long scale flatwound electric bass strings and have kind of a tinny tone if you don't bury the tone knob. You don't notice much of a tension difference between these and real upright strings. They arco pretty well but the rosin can cake on to the strings and cause problems when you pizz. All in all a perfect fit for the bass.
