I like the idea of this ramp.I think the car I am to be using it on is too high. It is an old pathfinder. I think it was 25 inches to the bumper.Dog was suddenly not keen on hopping in the small back doors, we noticed that he was not using his back legs so much. So we decided on this and also got him some physical therapy. The PT was helpful as she fixed one of his vertebra so now he can leap better. But he is getting on and I have to think of the next time I am somewhere with him and he will not or cannot get into the car by jumping.I couldn't decide between the ramp or stairs. The youtube videos made me think the ramp was easy as those dogs ran up it. Those dogs are not my dog. These were less pricey than the stairs and they had great reviews. I got the reflective yellow on black as my dog might not see so well especially at night. I got the trifold as my husband measure that only this one would fold up small enough to fit in the car.The three times we tried this in the field, he jumped off it midway every time. The last time I ended up with an 80 pound dog in my arms with his two front feet almost to the car. We were frozen there and had to get assistance from my husband to get out of that. My husband and I had been each on a side of the ramp to guide him up. I have no idea what happened as it went so fast. I got concerned that this pup was going to injure himself more.We will continue to keep it flat and train him to stay on the path and try again slowly raising the angle. Though, if it were me, I would be concerned with the angle I am expecting him to walk, if it were me walking it.The slope has a very fine sandpaper-like finish. Not slippery, not too rough. Dog likes to file his nails on it.It has a way of folding itself and a little latch to keep it closed. We can fit it easily in the back of the car.Slightly heavy, but not like picking up an older 80 pound dog who wants to do everything on his own and trying to put him in a car. That is a treat.

The tri-fold design is a bit awkward to open if you're a little person and does take a little bit of strength to carry, but otherwise this ramp is great for large dogs. I have three of them and two of them will go right up without any issues (the third one is blind and gets scared, but with guidance he too makes it just fine). I hold mine by the collar and just give them a little bit of guidance making sure they're not running "off" the ramp, as they like to be in a hurry going up. The ramp is plenty wide for my120lb lab/newfie mix and holds his weight with no trouble. The surface is a bit rough and feels like sand paper to your hand, and they do slide on it a bit, especially if their nails are longer than they are supposed to be. If you keep our dogs nails trimmed then their pads grab the surface pretty good and they don't slide. I think the sliding is also depending on each dog and how they walk up the ramp. I have not noticed any major sliding as they go down on it. I hold them by their collar and guide them down as well. All in all a great product and works well on my Terrain.

Very good product. Exactly as described. Quite heavy and bulky but that is because it is durable and fit for the job it was intended for. Not a cheap ramp like some of the others but then we needed something a little longer than the normal ramp so our 12 year old greyhound could walk up the ramp. Turns out that even this is too steep to walk up into an car boot boot. The dog cannot manage the incline. At such an high price I was disappointed I could not get the dog in the car. Not a problem with the product. Just seems that all dog ramps are far too steep for older dogs. Only seem good for young dogs. Then young dogs don't need ramps, they jump in the car. Will store the ramp in the garage. Not sure what I will do with it yet though. Shame we could not use it. It is certainly as described and very robust. May well be the right ramp for your pet. Nice and wide, non slip surface, an carry handle on the side. Reflective strips for those winter nights out on the road. Could have come with an canvas bag for the price though. If you place this on an wet winter road you will then get wet rear seats in your car. If the dog is in the back, the ramp is so large it has to be stored on the rear seats. We thought about taking bin liners to put it in or an rug on the back seats. We never got to try this out though.
