I etch glass and sell these at craft fayres and I am always a little worried about the customer being able to get them home safely. Bubble wrap is fine, but it is not eco-friendly and while I do try to recycle this, I am always conscious of the environment. These protective sleeves are brilliant – they are 22cm long for bottles up to 8cm diameter – and fit my pint glasses well with room to spare. When they arrived, they took up hardly any space at all and I wasn’t sure how good they would be, but they expand and are super sturdy offering great protection. If I were posting glassware, I would still use additional layers of paper, but these provide a great start. At under a tenner for 12 (which can also be cut into smaller sleeves) these are a good value, eco-friendly, recyclable packaging and I am really pleased.

I run my own business, which often requires me to pack up delicate items and post them out across the world. From now on, when I post anything cylindrical, whether bottles, camera lenses, canisters, or tankards, I will be using these.They slip onto your chosen object easily, and provide significant protection. In the second picture I have included, you can see me trying to crush the sleeve, using my mighty strength. I am unable to do so. However, were the bottle to be subjected to an extremely hard impact (e.g. from a fall, or from a kick from a disgruntled employee at a sorting office), the sleeve would crumple, absorbing the blow and protecting the item. I have confidence that this item would provide significant protection from damage.Of course, you'd couple this with other forms of protection, such as bubble wrap or packing paper, but these sleeves will now be an essential part of my packing arsenal.
