The wood that spoons are made from is too stiff. I make them more "user friendly" by adding several strong rubber bands to help narrow the gap between the contacting surfaces. When they work, the sound is superior to similarly priced metal spoons. Update: The wood handle for one of the "spoons" finally broke. So I threw the remains into the trash where they belong. RIP wooden spoons, your musical days are over.

This spoon instrument is improperly made with almost 3/8 inch between the contact points of the bowls. It takes almost three pounds pressure to bring the spoons together and thus they are impossible to play. Compare my image with the sellers image; the difference is obvious.I need to add that after some minor initial resistance, the seller did the right thing and gave a refund.

Love the quality, how it sounds, fair price, looks nice too! But the pointy ends of the spoon part start to hurt the palm of your hand after hitting it a few times. Not sure why they don't just round the spoon. Anyhow, we are really enjoying them and I definitely recommend them.

Needed wooden spoons (sometimes called "cat paws") for a musical.Great sound and easy to play. Good price. Only flaw is the two halves are not perfectly aligned at the handle. Playability is not affected.
