We bought these to hang birdfeeders under a tree that had fall webworms. (We were trying to attract natural predators.) These poles are so sturdy. We forgot to take them down for a hurricane. Tree limbs, fences, roof shingles could not withstand the hurricane force winds; these poles did not budge. They are also very pretty and hold the bird feeders well. The birds like to perch on the top and the squirrels attempt to climb the poles and end up sliding down. This has been one of our favorite outdoor purchases this year. In fact, we just bought another set so we can put out more bird feeders during peak migration season in a few months. Would highly recommend.

I bought these to put at each corner of my patio to set up string lights around the perimeter of said patio. I needed something high enough so that people won't clothesline themselves when walking around. These were a pretty good height at first, but within a week or two the tension of the string lights, which wasn't much, cause them to bend inward quite a bit, lowering the height of the lights significantly. I wish these were a bit sturdier and more rigid.

These hooks seem pretty sturdy, but the pronged base does not seem to be very secure in the ground. When feeders are hung from it, high winds can pull it over at an angle, but so far not enough to topple it entirely. With a squirrel baffle they seem to be squirrel proof so far after a month or so. In the spring I might put some precast concrete slabs over the prongs to see if that will prevent it from being blown over. I would suggest to the designers to either make the base prongs a little wider or longer or both.

I used both as birdfeeders. One for hummingbirds. The jury is still out on whether squirrels will be able to climb it. I’m sure they will try.Otherwise the product is sturdy and well made, easy to assemble with a solid 5-prong base that shouldn’t fall over if soil gets soggy. Id give it an A.

Great addition to our gardens. We used them for our seeded bird feeder and the other for our hummingbirds. It's nice to have the option of height with the separate pieces. We made it the height suitable for our garden.
